Traveling has always been a dream of mine, but the idea of embarking on a solo adventure was both exciting and intimidating. The idea of navigating foreign countries, cultures, and languages by myself seemed like a daunting task.

That’s when I stumbled upon Nomadic Matt‘s tour group – a community of like-minded travelers, led by the seasoned travel expert himself, Matt Kepnes, “Nomadic Matt.”

Or in my case, my tour was led by local guides in Romania. This blog post shares my first group tour experience I had traveling with the Nomadic Matt tour company for the first time.

It was also my first time traveling to Europe. It was a great way to experience Europe for the first time, having people help me navigate the different situations that popped up.

It gave me the confidence that I could do it alone one day.

The Decision to Go Solo

For years, I had dreamt of exploring the world, but the fear of going alone held me back. I wanted to gain the confidence to travel independently while still having the safety net of a group.

Nomadic Matt’s tour group seemed like the perfect solution. They offered curated itineraries woth local guides and the chance to meet other travelers who share a passion for exploration like I do.

Meeting My Fellow Travelers

Upon arriving at the starting point of our journey in Bucharest I was welcomed by a diverse group of travelers from all different backgrounds, traveling to Romania for the first time for different reasons.

Instantly, I felt a sense of camaraderie and knew I had made the right decision. We were all there for different reasons, some seeking adventure, others escaping the routine, but we shared a common bond with the love for travel.

These skills not only enriched my travel experience but also boosted my self-confidence, so I felt like I could do it on my own next time.

Building Friendships

Perhaps the most unexpected and cherished aspect of this journey was the friendships I formed. The shared adventures, laughter, and even the occasional travel mishap brought us closer together.

We celebrated each other’s milestones and created memories that will last a lifetime. I will always remember the things we shared on this trip and it will always be a fond memory of a fantastic experience.

Everyone on the trip was so nice and willing to help and be there. I was never lonely and had such a fun time exploring and eating with different people.

We all had our own interests and sometimes went off in out own direction, but we always all came together for a meal.
